Facebook

Hello, I hope everyone enjoyed there weekends and started their week off to a great start!  I know I have!  I have to apologize in advance but over the next few weeks I am not going to be around much!  I have some weddings, a trip planned to Puerto Rico, and a handful of dinner plans, so I won't be cooking much!  But if you are reading this and you have a Facebook account, be sure to become a fan of Feed Your Sister on Facebook!  There's a link on the top right of the screen that should take you right to the fan page!  Click "Like" and you are all set!  There, I have been posting "Tomorrow's Lunch," daily photos of my lunches, and some other fun things that do not necessarily show up on the blog!

Also to all my readers who leave comments, I wanted to let you know that I love love love receiving them!  It makes me so happy and excited all at the same time! I am glad that you are enjoying reading Feed Your Sister as much as I enjoy writing it! This is actually my 75th post, which is super exciting for me, since that means I'm only 25 away from 100!!!  Woohoo!!  I can't believe it's already been almost 6 months!!  I have to say I'm pretty impressed with myself!

Enjoy the rest of your week!  Stay tuned...

Balls or truffles, either way it tastes amazing!

Today I worked on something I've been wanting to do ever since I took a bite of Momofuku's birthday cake truffles.  I started to research how to make cake balls, and found out (thanks to Bakerella) that it requires some sort of cake and then icing.  You basically mix them together and you form balls and then either roll them in some sort of nut or cookie crumb mixture or place a popsicle stick in it and make them into lollipops.  Be sure to dip the pops into some sort of chocolate mixture.  And even after they have been dipped you can roll them in cookie crumbs or nuts!

So today I got a final product and I created my own concoction.  I call it Peanut Butter Banana Balls.  I made some rolled in crushed graham crackers and kept them as balls or truffles.  And then the rest I made into pops, to be dipped in chocolate tomorrow..  I'll freeze those for the next time I entertain at my apartment.  I also reserved some of the batter to make mini banana bread muffins and kept the extra icing in a plastic ziploc baggie to ice the cupcakes at a later time and date this week.

Meanwhile here are some photos to get your mouth watering....If you are wondering who took these marvelous pictures, I'll have to give the credit to my friend Anny, those are her little fingers helping me cut the kebab sticks (that's all I had at home).  Also pay close attention to the action shot of the graham crumbs getting sprinkled on top of one of the balls to ensure a nice even coating of grahams!  Gorgeous! Enjoy!

Half and Half

Over the weekend I was thinking how to make cookies that are a little more unique than your regular good old cookie, and I think I came up with a good idea.  Sometimes you can't decide whether you want a chocolate chip cookie or an oatmeal raisin cookie or perhaps a chocolate chocolate chip cookie.  Why is it that we have to choose one type of cookie, why can't we make cookies that are half and half??????  Genius, right?? I think so!

So I had some leftover cookie dough in my fridge from last week's ginormous cookies and thought I'd try my new idea out.  I made M&M chocolate chip cookies and then I added some cocoa to the rest of the batter and made chocolate chocolate chip with marshmallow cookies.  Here's how my muffin top pan looked.
There are endless possibilities with this, so get creative!  I can't wait to share my new creation with my friends tonight at The Bachelorette Finale Party that I'm going to!
Don't they look great all stacked up?!  Enjoy!
